I have played music for a long time-- starting with guitar then drums for a year then as a teenager I went back to guitar and applied myself to actual musical comitment. I played guitar for many bands over the years and played around on bass for a year or so during that time. About 4 years ago I was playing in a group with 2 other guitarists and a drummer but we didn't have a bassist so... I figured I could fill that void for a while. I guess that's when I got hooked on playing the low vibes and I have played bass in several bands since. I really don't like to go on about myself so to keep it brief I want to say I love music... all types. Category 4 is all about variety ( a requirement we all agreed to from the start ). I feel the most important part of playing music for an audience is to know that the music is about the audience not just what I like to jam on -- songs that I may abhor might be other peoples inspiration to live and I totally respect that and want to play strong for them ( I believe that's the musicians purpose and what I love to do) . Category 4 strives to provide something for various peoples prefrences ( including some originals )--- a big part of why I'm in this band. At a show earlier this year someone kept requesting (and yelling out for) a Madonna tune... Don't now how to field that one right now but we may surprise ya sometime. Another big part of why I play with Category 4 is my bandmates-- Kris, Ron , and Isaac ---- they are all talented, fun, comitted, real friends and teamates in tunes and life through thick and thin. Finally I want to mention another reason I'm in Category 4 -- QP-- you inspire me-- your my favorite song in life-- I wouldn't be doing this if not for you. |
